SEK Education Group

SEK Education Group is the manager to the school, an institution founded in 1892, which brings together leadership, teaching innovation and over 130 years of tradition and history. SEK Education Group encompasses an educational community that fosters the development of skills that guarantee relevant, global, international and meaningful learning.

SEK Education Group is made up of the SEK International Schools, which cater to over 7000 students between the ages of 4 months to 18 years old from over 80 nationalities at their six schools in Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Almería, Pontevedra), Dublin (Ireland), Les Alpes (France), Doha (Qatar), Riyadh (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), Manama (Kingdom of Bahrain) and Muscat (Sultanate of Oman).
Each school, has its own unique geographical and cultural identity, all sharing the same values, vision, tradition of innovation, excellence and passion for learning. The Camilo José Cela University, founded in the year 2000 as part of the SEK Education Group, which promotes entrepreneurship and innovation, technology and digitization, social impact and well-being as its four strategic axes.

We consistently focus on innovating the structure of our curriculum, the use of our facilities and how we incorporate them into our academic provision, and we encourage an approach to learning through a lens of creative and critical inquiry.

We value the importance of sport activities both within the school day and in extracurricular pursuits. We believe encouraging our youth to engage in sport fosters lifelong skills like team-work, discipline, healthy competition, and perseverance.

Omani Heritage 04

Our students value Omani heritage and customs, extending into the learning at NWIS and our school identity. Our international curriculum is firmly connected to our local context, nurturing the dispositions of citizens of the world.

Languages 05

Students learn three core languages at NWIS: English, Arabic native or non native, and Spanish. With these languages, students will be able to communicate with a vast portion of the global population.
